Carton Guard started as an internal tool for Acme Print Co.. After a year of daily use, we're making it available to other print finishers.
The problem
Print finishers move thousands of cartons a week. Paper-based stock control loses cartons, hides ageing stock and turns month-end into a fire drill. ERPs were built for pallets, not cartons.
Our approach
Every carton gets a unique ID — CG-CT-000001 — encoded on a Zebra label with RFID, QR and a Code128 barcode. Whatever scanner the team has to hand, it reads the same source of truth.
Principles
- Scan-first. If it takes more than one tap, it won't be used.
- Offline-friendly. Warehouses don't have perfect Wi-Fi. Carton Guard catches up.
- Label-grade. Labels are infrastructure. We print to spec, every time.
- Audit-ready. Every movement is attributable and append-only.
